ULTRAKARDIO specialist cardiology practice performs the following tests:

Specialist cardiac ultrasound imaging – echocardiography,
Echocardiography is a heart examination where a cardiologist gets accurate anatomical and functional data on the heart and relevant vascular structure using ultrasound. This information assists the treating physician to diagnose and decide upon the treatment of the heart disease. The examination is completely painless and requires no preliminary preparation. During the examination, the patient lies on their side and ultrasound gel is applied to the skin for better contact with the probe.

Cardiac stress tests,
Cardiac stress tests or cycloergometry is a non-invasive cardiac examination where the patient is on an indoor bike whilst we gradually increase the resistance. In the meantime we observe and measure various indicators (blood pressure, ECG, pulse, analyse breathing). This information assists the cardiologist to assess the functioning of the heart and lungs and uncover any disease changes. On the day of the test, we advise patients to eat a light breakfast and to bring with them comfortable clothing (shorts or trousers) and suitable footwear (trainers). 3 hours before the test we recommend patients not to eat, smoke or drink coffee.

Functional heart diagnostics,
Functional heart diagnostics combine several diagnostic procedures which allow the cardiologist to objectively assess the functionality of the cardiovascular system.

24-hour heart-rate monitoring (Holter),
The 24 hour heart-rate monitoring (Holter) records the electrical activity of the heart. The examination is painless and does not interfere with the patient's daily activities. We attach an ECG recorder with electrodes to the patient's chest, which they wear outside of the clinic. The device continuously records ECG, in the case of a medical problem, the patient can press a special button. This examination uncovers potential heart rhythm disorders which cannot be seen on a usual ECG recording. We check the work of the pacemaker and determine the effects of the medication.

Remote ECG,
Transferral of health information with the help of ICT (smartphones, internet) allows the cardiologist to monitor patients even when they are not in the clinic.

Heart exams,
Heart exams include consultation with patients on their problems and other important factors which impact their health status and cardiological examination.

Preoperative heart diagnostics and postoperative patient monitoring,
At the clinic we carry out all necessary cardiological tests needed to diagnose and monitor our patients' health status, including post-operatively.

Monitoring patients with pacemakers,
A pacemaker is a device which is inserted into the chest and helps balance the heartbeat by using an electric impulse. In order for the device to operate well, it must have the proper settings. With time the parameters (age, associated illnesses, etc.) change, and consequently the pacemaker function settings must change too. The cardiologist checks the settings and battery status every 6 to 12 months.

Preventive heart exams with analyses of medical files and a second opinion for individuals and companies,
Preventive heart examinations allow the cardiologist to check how healthy and strong your heart is. During the examination, we focus on preventing cardiovascular diseases. When performing this examination, we also analyse existing medical documentation and give a second medical opinion.

Cardisiography,
A Non-Invasive preventive heart-screening test using ECG electrodes and AI to accurately and reliably detect cardiovascular diseases and to assess the risk of developing a heart attack. More →

3D echocardiography.
Non-invasive cardiological examination using ultrasound measurements and artificial intelligence to produce an accurate 3D model of the patient's heart. Reliable and accurate measurements comparable to results obtained with a cardiac MRI scan allow for early recognition of abnormalities or pathologies. More →

ULTRAKARDIO Outpatient Clinic prepares the following for patients:

  • A second medical opinion and obtaining of a third independent medical opinion in Austria
  • Expert opinions produced for various medical establishments and insurance companies

3D echocardiography

The latest diagnostic technology augments the ultrasound and enables a three-dimensional view of the heart structure and function. The accuracy of measurements is comparable to the most precise results obtained with a cardiac MRI scan.

The advanced method provides reliable and accurate volumetric measurements, and ejection fractions of all four heart chambers.

Having the ability to view the heart in three-dimensions allows for an earlier diagnosis of possible abnormalities or pathologies, which are often not clearly visible with a traditional echocardiogram. The technology makes it possible to take treatment decisions faster, thus improving patient care and outcomes.

Result analysis takes only about 15 minutes. The method is therefore suitable for monitoring changes in the heart and adjusting therapies based on up-to-date and reliable metrics as cardiac conditions progress.

The diagnostic examination is performed at the outpatient clinic and is suitable for adult and paediatric patients. It is non-invasive, safe, and painless.

How does it work?

The cardiologist performs an ultrasound examination of the heart – an echocardiogram. Measurements taken are then analysed by artificial intelligence using an innovative algorithm. The result of the analysis is an accurate 3D model of the patient's heart.

Cardisiography

Cardisiography is the first preventive method using artificial intelligence to identify cardiovascular diseases with high accuracy and within minutes, and to assess the patient’s risk of developing a heart attack. Disorders can be detected in very early stages thus enabling faster and more effective treatment.

This modern method is non-invasive, safe, highly reliable and painless. It is suitable for adults and performed in a clinic while the patient is in a resting state.

The sensitivity rate of cardisiography is over 90%, proven by clinical studies. The method is able to detect signs of cardiovascular disorders in patients with no symptoms, such as ischaemia in a resting state.

The 3 step procedure lasts around 30 minutes

  • Firstly, we explain the cardisiography procedure and run preliminary diagnostic tests.
  • Secondly, we attach five electrodes to your body, similar to an ECG, to perform a three-dimensional measurement of your heart. The recording lasts for 4 minutes, while you are in a resting state.
  • Finally, the recorded parameters are transmitted to the cardisiograph and processed into a report using computer analysis and an AI algorithm. The results are ready after 15 minutes. You can discuss them with a doctor.
